About

The Glasgow City Region Community Benefits Hub brings together local Community Groups with Businesses delivering contracts for participating councils and organisations across the Region.

Community Groups can post Requests for goods, services or resources that can then be met and delivered by Businesses.

This allows communities to make Requests that deliver a real, positive impact for local people, and allows Businesses to find and support local causes and Requests that align with their business goals and contribute to Corporate Social Responsibility.

Both Community Groups and Businesses need to register and meet certain conditions to join the Hub.

FAQs

What are Community Benefits?

Community Benefits are goods, services, voluntary work, employment, or financial support delivered to or received by local communities and non-profit organisations. All businesses contracting with the public sector are required to consider Community Benefit requirements as part of procurement, such as committing to delivering some form of social impact as part of winning and delivering a contract.

Who can use the Community Benefits Hub?

The Hub is open to Community Groups and Businesses that meet certain conditions. More information on eligibility can be found on the Guidance for Community Groups or Guidance for Businesses pages.

How do I register?

You can register to join the Community Benefits Hub by completing a short form as a Community Group or as a Business. You will need to set up an account and password, before providing some basic information about your Group or Business. Your details will then be sent to the relevant Local Council or Organisation for approval.

Is there an approval process for new Registrations and Requests?

Yes. New Community Group and Business registrations are sent to the relevant Local Council or Organisation to review and approve. Each Request will also be sent to the Local Council to approve before it is visible to Businesses. This process ensures that Groups, Businesses and Requests on the website are legitimate, meet the required conditions, and provide a real benefit to local people.

Will my email address receive unsolicited emails/spam?

No. We only send emails directly related to your registration or Requests on the Hub. This does not include unsolicited advertisements or automated mailing lists. If you do not wish to be contacted further beyond mandatory emails, you can confirm this in writing to: communitybenefitshub@glasgow.gov.uk

Why is my council not listed even though it is part of Glasgow City Region?

The Community Benefits Hub has been recently launched by Glasgow City Region. At this point, not all of our partner councils are participating. If you would like to receive updates on participating councils, please email us at: communitybenefitshub@glasgow.gov.uk

Can I use the Community Benefits Hub if my council area is not participating?

If you are based in a council area that is not yet participating, unfortunately you are currently unable to use the website. This may change at a later date. Email communitybenefitshub@glasgow.gov.uk for updates.

Can I use the Community Benefits Hub if I am not based in Glasgow City Region?

The Glasgow City Region Community Benefits Hub is aimed specifically at connecting our local communities with businesses based within or operating in the Region to deliver change with a local, community-led focus.
