Glossary of Terms
This page outlines the identity and/or definitions of key terms used throughout the Community Benefits Hub. These definitions apply in particular to the liability disclaimer and contact permissions that users are asked to acknowledge during registration.
Organisations
The term Organisation refers to any entity participating in the Community Benefits Hub in a capacity that enables its suppliers to be invited to join and respond to Requests posted on the Hub. Participation is by invitation from Glasgow City Region and requires approval from the Glasgow City Region Chief Executives’ Group.

Please note that this list is not exhaustive and may be extended in future, subject to further approvals by the Chief Executives’ Group.
Participating Local Councils
The Local Councils currently participating in the Glasgow City Region Community Benefits Hub include:
- East Renfrewshire Council
- Glasgow City Council
- Inverclyde Council
- North Lanarkshire Council
Please note that this list may be extended to include additional eligible Glasgow City Region Local Councils in the future.

Additional Terms
Other terms used throughout the Benefits Hub include:
- Community Group: Any eligible not-for-profit organisation including schools and Community Groups providing services in any of the participating Local Councils.
- Business: An eligible Business or Supplier, with a live contract with one of the Local Councils or Organisations on the Hub, which can use the Community Benefits Hub website.
- Request: A Request is the ‘ask’ from a Community Group on the Benefits Hub website. Requests can be made for goods, services or financial support
- Match: Where a registered and approved Business selects to deliver an approved Community Group Request, this is referred to as a Match.
